Our History
In the 1850's and 60's, Lutherans in Benton County worshipped at two different sites, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Norway, and at the Benton County Lutheran Church two miles north of town. In 1948, the two churches merged and formed Trinity Lutheran Church. The original site of the church is in Norway, at the top of Main Street hill.

Our closing worship there was June 20, 2004, and our first service in Walford was June 27, 2004. It was a large undertaking to move our church home, but what made that move possible is that, as God's people gathered in that place, we allowed the Spirit to lead us. Even when such a bold step was taken, we did it in faith, in hope and following the Spirit's lead. And, even though our location changed, our mission remained the same.

Now in our new home in Walford, the same church family gathers to hear God's Word, to be enlivened and nourished by the sacraments, and to follow God, whose guiding hand leads us into the future.

All of history is in God's hands, past present and future, and we are grateful for our lives in God, and grateful for the love mission and ministry that we are called to share. Wherever we go, may God continue to bless us to be a blessing to all.
